This is a very smooth tube microphone.
The Avantone CV-12 is a tube microphone with dual 32mm gold sputtered thin Mylar capsules, with a -10 dB pad & 80 Hz LF metal roll off toggle switches. The CV-12 mic comes in a wooden mic box. It comes with a shock mount mic holder and a 7 pin XLR cable. The power supply has a nine pattern position switch from omni to cardioid selection.
this all fits in an aluminium flight case.
It originally came with a Russian made 6072A/12AY7 tube, and I have replaced it with a much smoother and cleaner USA NOS RCA-12AY7, and have a Mullard 12AT7 as a spare, for variation in sound (worth around $100). The original tube is in the box. Changing the tube is very simple.
I'm selling because I'm downsizing all my work and although I'd like to keep this microphone, I can't justify it with the amount of work I do with it.
